PROPERTY DETAILS

Property: Sa Boleda
Location: Santa Margalida
Our Rating: 4 Star
Bedrooms: 3 Bed (Sleeps up to 6)
Bath/Shower: 3

With 3,000 years of history, Sa Boleda is in the heart of the country. The surrounding area is well-known locally for its cereal crops and sheep farming. It has a privileged location, in the North of Majorca, 5 km from the beautiful beaches of Alcudia Bay and is on a promontory with marvellous, relaxing views. That was the reason why its earliest settlers, dating back to prehistoric times, as well as the Phoenicians and Arabs chose this place and left important vestiges of their cultures.

The house is composed of two buildings on different levels which are connected by a staircase and the whole dwelling stands on tertiary rocks. In years gone by, these buildings were home to the people who worked on this country estate. On the upper floor there are three double bedrooms (one with a strongbox) and three bathrooms. On the lower floor there is a toilet and a well-equipped fitted kitchen (with ceramic hob, grill-oven, microwaves, dishwasher and a large refrigerator), a laundry room with washing machine and a dining-living room (with a firewood stove, TV satellite, DVD, Internet Wireless WIFI), which has an exit to a private terrace with barbecue.

An exceptional swimming pool with relaxing views over the landscape at the upper building level completes this house that we rent as a whole and with capacity for a maximum of 6 people.

ACCOMMODATION
The house has been decorated in period decor, using antique furniture and Majorcan fabrics. This gives the house a warm, rustic atmosphere and makes it a pleasant retreat for an unforgettable holiday at any time of the year. The rooms and living-dining room have air-conditioning (cold and hot).

By means of this project, we have set out to share with you our aim of creating a community development which is attractive yet sustainable.

Our objective is to harmonize environmental protection with the economic, social and cultural development of our island. One of the consequences of our commitment is to reinvest the economic resources obtained through agro tourism so as to reach this objective.

Moreover, we have taken two initiatives: - Solar energy. The hot water consumed at Sa Boleda is produced with the help of solar energy. - Reforestation: We have a small tree nursery where we germinate seeds from native trees such as the Holm Oak (quercus ilex), wild Olive Tree (olea europea, var.Silvestris), Almez (celtis australis), Palm Heart (chamaerops humilis), etc. When they have germinated, we then transplant them.

hanged weekly.
SURROUNDINGS - FURTHER INFORMATION - PRICES

The architecture of Sa Boleda is a fine example of the social and agrarian structure of Majorca many years ago. Near the houses you can find the remains of a talaiotic (prehistoric) village as well as an Arabian qanat. Sa Boleda is a good place to set off on a cycling tour, as there are lots of rural paths nearby. If you want to visit the past, you can go to other country estates such as Son Real, that has a necropolis on the seaside or Son Serra de Marina, with an untouched talaiot and virgin beaches.

Santa Margalida is the closest village. There you can visit the recently restored church or you can browse for bargains at its market, held on Tuesdays and which offers local products.

Muro, Petra, Ariany , Artá and Sineu are other nearby villages with interesting buildings and museums. You can practise water sports in Alcudia Bay and Pollensa and there are golf courses in Pollensa, Aucanada and Capdepera.
